What is an Inclusion Seeker?

Quite simply, everyone is already an Inclusion Seeker – we just need to step into action.  All you have to do is introduce yourself to someone who might be typically left out, or might be surrounded by staff supports, but lack true belonging – specifically, people with disabilities & their families.

The goals of Inclusion Seekers are pretty straightforward:

Mindsets

Adopt a mindset that your connection to someone with a disability is an important and infinitely doable way to make their life – and your own life – better.

Action

Think of ways you and the person might solve problems together.  Perhaps you can plan for a job search together, or take a trip to the grocery.  Maybe you can think of ways the two of you might lead a block party for your community together.  Local, personal action is what is often missing from the lives of people with disabilities, and you can help add a little more in your own way!

Connect

Life is sweeter and more full with more people.  Are there ways you can meet new people and introduce others to grow the social bonds that keep everyone safe, secure and living a life full of meaning?
