Connection starts close to home

Communities are strongest when people show up for one another

Building Stronger Local Connections

Too many people, especially people with disabilities, experience isolation and disconnection from the world around them.

Inclusion Seekers helps people build relationships through shared interests, local events, and everyday community life. We believe stronger communities are built person-to-person: neighbors becoming friends, people showing up for one another, and everyone having the chance to participate and contribute.

This is practical, local work rooted in trust, relationships, and human connection. Connection starts close to home.

We've been working on something exciting, and we'll be unveiling it Tuesday, June 23!

For years, we've been learning what it takes to build real belonging in community life, in places close to home and around the world.

From Cincinnati to Kentucky, North Carolina, Central Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa, we've seen the same truth: belonging happens through relationships.

This is the work we do.

And next week, we're sharing something we've been creating along the way.

A hint?
✨ Four chapters.
🎨 Lots of watercolor.
💡 Made to be used, not just read.

New name. Same heart behind the work.

Starfire is now known as Inclusion Seekers Powered by Starfire.

While the name is changing, the mission remains the same: helping people build meaningful relationships, strengthen community connections, and create places where everyone belongs.

This next chapter reflects the growth of a movement that reaches beyond any one organization. A movement centered on belonging, connection, and communities where people are known for their gifts.

We're excited for what's ahead and grateful to have you with us on the journey.

Sometimes inclusion is described like a policy.

But most people experience it as a feeling.

Being remembered.
Being invited back.
Having someone save you a seat.
Knowing your presence matters.

That's the kind of community we're working toward.

Right now, 10 new Inclusion Seekers projects are being created across Australia.

Different communities.
Different cultures.
Same human need for belonging.

What started locally is now growing globally through people who believe community becomes stronger when everyone is included.

And the most meaningful part?
The work still begins the same way it always has:
One relationship at a time.

In May, Tim and Bridget led the keynote at the Ohio Association of County Boards alongside three incredible storyteller panels for a conversation about belonging, community, and what becomes possible when people are truly connected.

Their keynote, "Rebuilding Community: The Fiscal and Human Case for Belonging", challenged attendees to think beyond services alone and consider the long-term impact of investing in relationships, community building, and authentic connection.

Through personal stories and honest reflection, the session explored how stronger communities can create natural supports, reduce isolation, and build richer, safer, more sustainable lives for people with disabilities and their families.

Because belonging is not just personal.
It shapes the future of our communities too.
