This is what a good neighbor looks like

Every year on this day, neighbors across the country show up for each other: a wagon of gift bags, a bucket of school supplies, a parking lot full of families meeting for the first time. No program, no committee. Just people who decide the person next door deserves to be noticed.

At Inclusion Seekers, we believe that belonging is built in everyday moments, not from a distance. National Good Neighbor Day is one more chance to prove it, one project, one door, one neighborhood at a time.

That’s the whole idea behind Good Neighbor Day, and it’s the perfect holiday for us to celebrate.  So much so that Inclusion Seekers is building our Day of Giving around it.  We’re also proud to be a 2026 implementation Partner of National Good Neighbor Day!

When neighbors show up, this happens

Every neighbor-led project starts the same way. Someone noticed and acted. Every gift, at every level, helps create an opportunity for connection.

A wagon, and every door

A wagon with gift bags, one for every door in the apartment complex. No program or committee. Just someone who decided the people around her deserved to be noticed.

A bucket of school supplies

A metal bucket of pens, markers, and highlighters, delivered to a school with a handwritten sign: “We Are Glad You Are in the Neighborhood.” One bucket. Classrooms full of students and teachers who felt seen

A parking lot, full of strangers

A church parking lot became a gathering spot for neighbors who’d never met. Stuffed animals were traded. A donut was shared. Strangers stopped being strangers.
